There are many different ways to drive traffic to a business. Each of them have their own strengths and weaknesses.

In general, they are categorized into either free traffic or paid traffic.

As the name implies, free traffic does not involve using money to get traffic because it is using the free methods.

It can be free in terms of money, but it does cost effort and time to get it.

Although you may be spending a lot of time and effort in free traffic generation, you may still see little to no results it brings to your business.

Because there is no guarantee in free traffic that you would get the eyeballs to your business.

You can’t control how much eyeballs you would be getting.

As everyone is fighting to get free eyeballs to their business, the competition is stiff and so it’s hard to attract the audiences’ attention.

However, you still can have a very targeted audiences using free traffic methods if you’ve succeeded to attract their attention.

Forum is a good example of getting targeted free eyeballs because the audiences there already aligned themselves with a specific topic/niche.

 

Paid Traffic

 

This is a traffic generation method through traffic buying to get eyeballs to your business.

So it does consume money in the process but the results is way much more faster than free traffic methods.

How it works is by buying an advertisement space in a particular media such as social media or website to get visibility to your products or business.

Besides getting results much more faster, it also does allows you to choose your targeting options.

With that being said, you can have very targeted audience traffic at your disposal.

Paid traffic allows you to control how much eyeballs you want to have on your products/business.

The more money you spent, the more eyeballs you’ll be getting because your ads would be shown more times.

It doesn’t require a lot of time or effort to see the results coming in.

There is no exact answer of whether free traffic or paid traffic is better.

The reason so because both of them have their own strengths and weaknesses.

To get the maximum potentials out of these 2 worlds, it’s wise to combine 2 of them into your business.

For instance, you can use free traffic methods to generate some sales to your business and then use part of the profits to invest in paid traffic.

With this strategy in place, you can scale your business faster and have better control over your business too.
